The APL (Animal Planning & Logistics) team is looking for an independent, flexible, accurate and experienced colleague for 24 hours per week to strengthen their team. The APL team

The APL team is responsible for the optimal flow of our animals, starting with their rescue and ending with their outplacement. Our team is in charge of organizing all the animal transports for both of our shelters located in the Netherlands (Almere) and Spain (Villena). You will be situated in Almere.


Do these things interest you? What you will do:  

  • Assist the four coordinators in the team APL (rescue, outplacement and logistics) and the APL team manager.
  • Support logistical tasks around the transport of the animals and keep the rescue and outplacement database up-to-date.
  • Take care of the office responsibilities and be “right hand person” to the coordinators.
  • Take responsibility for some smaller projects.
  • Have frequent contact with (often international) parties, such as animal rights organizations, zoos, individuals and governments.
  • Gather the necessary information and file it, making sure that the information (digital and printed) in the archives and various databases remain up-to-date.
  • Report to the relevant coordinator and ensure that the different departments are aligned.
  • Although you are not directly responsible, you also make sure you are well informed about current rescue and outplacement projects so that if needed, you can help out.

  • Your salary will be between € 1,302 and € 1,597 gross per month (based on 24 hours per week) dependent on relevant work experience, with room for growth within the function. 
  • In addition to the 8% holiday allowance, we pay a variable year-end bonus of a maximum of 8.33% of your annual gross salary.
  • 24 Vacation days per year on a full time basis.

What we are looking for?

  • An affinity with the objectives of AAP.
  • Minimum MBO 4 thinking and working level.
  • Administrative/secretarial experience is advantageous.
  • Entrepreneurial, customer focused, and service-oriented.
  • Accurate, very flexible and appreciates organization and order.
  • Stress resistant and strong sense of responsibility.
  • An excellent team player.
  • Can keep an overview, work systematically and independently.
  • Can distinguish between major and minor issues.
  • Experienced in working with databases. Knowledge of ZIMS is advantageous.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch and Spanish. German is a plus.
  • Excellent MS Office programs skills.

In Almere we have 92 employees and more than 200 volunteers. We work in a spacious and modern location, in the middle of the green heart of Almere. Our office and facility center are located on the same grounds as our rescued animals. Nowhere else can you see the result of your work so directly!
